Hi - ten years ago I was also thinkig, yes South Africa is full of rose pedals, however ten years later, after numerous break ins (thank the Lord nothing more serious) and my own family to support I think differently. When being so young you tend to be very naive, and experience will prove what you portray on this website to be not true to the character of current South Africa.

I also have black friends, my business partner is an indian, and we share a unique friendship and lots of humor because of our racial divides...

As far as only one comment (from you) being posted on the CESA website, maybe you are asking the wrong questions to Neil, btw, he isnt involved in the operation of the website anymore, but are making a differnce in South Africa.

Like any business there are advantages and disatvantages, mine for instant is the open source market, it changed the way we do business, think and conduct ourselves. Crime IS THE DOWNFALL of tourism in South Africa, and not Neils website, the info from Neils website do come from repectable sources. People that have experienced the negative first hand, and news sources from within Southern Africa.

I hope your website will tell the stories of people affected by crime as well, and not just the stories of how good South Africa are.

And may your family be safe wherever they are.

As I am a student, I don't have much time, apart from my holidays, to do research and write articles. I would appreciate if volunteers e.g. blog owners, freelance journalists or criminologists would allow me to place their articles (credit will be given to the author). Articles just need to be in line with the mission of the website (see About). Contact me

A country at war with itself: Antony Altbeker

Getting behind the statistics to offer a sober and sobering account of the scale of the crime problem and its evolution, the book describes how government has sometimes sought to deal with the crisis and sometimes sought to deny its existence. The book ends with some suggestions of what needs to be done to deal with this scourge. Buy
