I am glad this site was removed, it sensationalised crime to the point where most people were too scared to come to our lovely country. To say they have a right to publish untruths is rather pathetic and intollerable as I am sure these people agreeing with CESA would be the first to sue for defamation of character had they been a victim of published untruths.

Irrespective of what comparisons were made - the crime being commited and the manner in which it is commited in RSA is unacceptable!

I think people should be free to choose to read CESA. Perhaps not everything on the site was completely accurate, but hey, can we use the same comb for our daily media? Are we going to shut them down too? Closing CESA is another nail in the coffin for freethinking individuals. Better make sure you keep your nose in the right place.......look what happened to the Scorpions.......Eish!

I see that Mr Uys, a former CESA team member, is now co-leader with the National Party (NP) which relaunched last month. They contest the 2009 election on a strong anti violent crime ticket according to the nationalparty.co.za website. I will vote for the NP as I was and stay a CESA supporter!
Unecessary!

Hello, I used to read the news on SA because there are a few in my town with whom I chat with, one of them mentioned the way are Media in the UK lavished praise on Nelson Mandela but seemed to ignore the fact he ran a terrorist campaign, we now have a statue of him outside our parliament against the wishes of the UK people. My point is really simple weather or not Mr Watson was putting up truth or fiction there are plenty of sites to look at and he is entitled to his opinion, taking down the website because it was possibly effecting Tourism is ridiculous. They asked his opinion and he replied, maybe it was a little over the top but still if people do not have due diligence that is there problem. It is a disgrace that CESA was closed.

As I am a student, I don't have much time, apart from my holidays, to do research and write articles. I would appreciate if volunteers e.g. blog owners, freelance journalists or criminologists would allow me to place their articles (credit will be given to the author). Articles just need to be in line with the mission of the website (see About). Contact meWant your website or blog listed?
