Winchester Mansions, a beachfront boutique hotel in Cape Town is the only South African property to make the Top 100 Best Value listing of Budget Travel Magazine and TripAdvisor.

Ranked 26th in the world, Winchester Mansions is featured alongside various other internationally renowned hotels such as Park Hotel (Tokyo), Swissôtel (Berlin), Mandarin Oriental (Kuala Lumpur), Sofitel (Bangkok), Beausite Park Hotel (Switzerland), Renaissance Arts Hotel (New Orleans), Warsaw Marriot Hotel (Poland) and many more.

The Top 100 Best Value awards were created to highlight the world’s most reliable hotels with an average rate of $250 (R1750) or less.

The award-winners were selected based on hotel reviewer TripAdvisor’s Popularity Index, which determines traveller satisfaction based on a variety of sources, including TripAdvisor reviews, travel articles and opinions from across the internet. Budget Travel is a popular American travel magazine.

“We are very proud of this remarkable and outstanding achievement. We always aim to give each of our guests the best experience possible at the best value,” said Nils Heckscher, Managing Director at Winchester Mansions.

As I am a student, I don't have much time, apart from my holidays, to do research and write articles. I would appreciate if volunteers e.g. blog owners, freelance journalists or criminologists would allow me to place their articles (credit will be given to the author). Articles just need to be in line with the mission of the website (see About). Contact me

A country at war with itself: Antony Altbeker

Getting behind the statistics to offer a sober and sobering account of the scale of the crime problem and its evolution, the book describes how government has sometimes sought to deal with the crisis and sometimes sought to deny its existence. The book ends with some suggestions of what needs to be done to deal with this scourge. Buy
